A skill set called leadership

                                                          mobile.jamaica-gleaner.com
According to John Maxwell; “Leadership is more? if not much more ? Influence, rather than position.”
From this quote, we can understand that leadership has more to do with the ability of an individual to influence his environment in order to bring about change. At this particular point it is also important to criticize the type of change drawn by a leader.
Since leaders deal specifically with changes in the environment, this change can be directed either positively or negatively. Some will be able to use their influential skill to lift up their society, whether it is politically, socially or financially for instance, while others will be destroying it.

Some historical leader’s figures that undeniably brought a positive change, and continue to inspire the world at large are namely, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King and so forth…
In an attempt of understanding where leaders come from, it can be argued that some are born leaders, while others learn to become leaders.
In fact, being a leader recommends having some characteristic or personality traits that will enable them to perform they role of leaders, but also continue nurturing this ability.
It all starts with a vision, leaders are those capable of seeing beyond the limitations of the physical eye. Great leaders must have a vision that positively impacts not only themselves but the world around. They must believe in it and must be ready to pay the sacrifice…

If you are Selfish, you don't belong to world and the world does not belong to you either. You are from nowhere...(RIP)

The crucial purpose of journalism is to provide the people with the information they need. People need to be aware of what is happening in the various settings of the environment within which they interact daily.

For this instance, journalism itself obeys to certain rules and work principals in order for it to serve rightfully its purpose.

However, the reality portrayed outside does not always fit this kind of frame. There are pseudo journalists out there who do not have the required skills in the practice of their function. In fact, many lack the necessary knowledge starting from compiling an interview to get the relevant information for a specific subject matter.

Web CT is a Web-based software programme that was originally developed in Columbia by Murray Goldberg in 1995.It was first integrated into the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in 2000.

According to Antoinette van Deventer E- learning responsible in an interview set in 2010, as part of a  Media Studies research  topic, the main reason behind WebCT was about getting extra tools, trying something new and being in phase with new technological development.

The adoption of this new product (WebCT) was something that incommensurably revolutionnised the condition of academic learning. Not all African Countries have actually made use of that innovative technology yet. South Africa is therefore in line with the different tools used worldwide and can actually compete with the other higher institution of education.

The first version adopted by CPUT was WebCT4.This later, comprises of the basics of e learning element intended for assisting educators to deal with courses and the different work conducted online in a more effective manner.

The use of WebCT undeniably helped a lot in reaching a certain improvement in terms of study mentoring. For instance, this new system improved the learning programme by monitoring student’s progress and also by making course material and evaluations accessible for the facilitation of both students and lecturers.
